The attack began with an attempted intrusion by the militants, which Pakistani forces initially repelled. However, the attackers detonated a vehicle laden with explosives, causing structural damage.
Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar are identified as the two officers who fell while leading the counter-offensive. Three soldiers, Havildar Sabir, Naik Khurshid, and Sepoy Nasir, along with Sepoy Raja and Sepoy Sajjad, also lost their lives defending the post.
Pakistani forces successfully eliminated all six attackers in a subsequent clearing operation. The ISPR statement emphasizes Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism. They acknowledge the sacrifice of these brave soldiers and declare that such acts only strengthen their resolve.
