Enforced disappearances continue to plague Balochistan, with 27 individuals forcibly abducted in the first half of November 2023. The term disappear refers to forcible abduction by state agencies, including the Pakistan Army.

Despite compelling evidence provided by local and international human rights groups, Pakistani government and army officials persist in denying any involvement in these abductions and extra-judicial killings.

Twentyseven cases of enforced disappearances in the first half of November, with two individuals safely returned and four found dead.

The abductions took place in various areas of Balochistan, including Kech, Tubrat, Awaran, Quetta, Kharan, Gwadar, Karachi, and Khuzdar.

The victims include Abdul Wahad, Shabid Dipul, Haroon Baloch, Noman Aman, Saleem Raza, Hasain Baloch, Abdul Qadeer, Salahuddin, Qasim Hakeem, and Akram Baloch.

The continued occurrence of enforced disappearances and the government’s denial of any involvement demand increased attention from the regional and international community to end these human rights violations.
