The Pakistan Navy has promoted three Commodores to the rank of Rear Admiral, effective immediately. Each officer brings a wealth of experience and expertise to their new roles.
Rear Admiral Mazhar Mahmood Malik:
Joined the Navy in 1992, specializing in Marine Engineering.
Holds a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from NUST.
Served in key positions like Fleet Marine Engineering Officer and Chief Staff Officer to Commander Logistics.
Currently leads the Pakistan Navy Dockyard, Karachi, and is a recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) award.
Rear Admiral Shahzad Hamid:
Commissioned in 1993, a skilled Naval Aircraft Pilot.
Graduate of Pakistan Navy War College and National Defence University.
Commanded P-3C aircraft Squadron and served as Commander Naval Aviation.
Held prominent positions like Chief Staff Officer to Commander North and Naval Attaché to the US.
Takes on the role of Director General Naval Intelligence, decorated with Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat.
Rear Admiral Azhar Mahmood:
Entered the Navy in 1993, specializing in Operations.
Holds a Master’s degree from National Defence University.
Commanded various units and served in key staff positions.
