British army chief in Pakistan for defence engagements

British Army’s Chief of the General Staff General Sir Patrick Sanders arrived in Pakistan as part of the United Kingdom’s commitment to maintain good defence relations with Pakistan.

During the visit, the Chief of Army Staff of UK will meet COAS General Asim Munir.

During his stay, General Sanders will hold crucial meetings with Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff, General Asim Munir. Additionally, a friendly sporting event is on the agenda, featuring the British Army Polo Team competing against their counterparts from the Pakistani Army in Lahore.

This visit underscores the UK’s commitment to maintaining a robust defence partnership with Pakistan. In the past year, the collaboration has seen numerous defence exchanges, a joint naval training exercise involving HMS Lancaster, and various high-level military visits between the UK and Pakistan. These regular engagements play a crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation, ultimately contributing to regional security enhancement.

One of the highlights of General Sanders’ visit is the friendly polo match, symbolizing the camaraderie between the military forces and providing an opportunity for cultural exchange. The Band of the Honourable Artillery Company, led by General Sanders as the Colonel Commandant, will contribute musical performances to enrich the overall experience.
