On August 24, 2017, Director-General of the Department of Arms Control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Qun co-chaired a new round of China-Pakistan consultations on arms control and non-proliferation with Additional Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs Tasnim Aslam of Pakistan and met with Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua of Pakistan in Islamabad. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on topics of common concern in the fields of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation. The Chinese side also visited Pakistan’s Center of Excellence on Nuclear Security.
