On January 22, the 27th Chinese Peacekeeping Level-II Hospital to the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) conducted a joint emergency drill with its Pakistani counterpart. The drill, set in the scenario of a grenade attack on a Pakistani barrack, focused on injury evaluation, emergency communication, emergency rescue, aerial evacuation and other subjects, with the Chinese Level-II Hospital as the main relief force. The drill has effectively tested the medical contingent’s capabilities for battlefield emergency rescue and collaborative medical support.
The drill successfully tested the Chinese Level-II Hospital’s capacity for battlefield emergency rescue and collaborative medical support. The exercise highlighted the importance of joint training and collaboration between peacekeeping contingents from different countries. The experience gained from this drill will likely be used to refine procedures and improve preparedness for future emergencies in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
