Major General Irfan Ahmed Malik (Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military) has been appointed as Director General Military Land and Cantonment Department on secondment basis for two years.
General Irfan Ahmed Malik served as Director General, Counter Intelligence (DG CI) at Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Directorate Islamabad.His boss was the controversial ISI Chief, Lt. General Faiz Hameed.
The two star Major General also served as General Office Commanding (GoC) in Balochistan, Commander, Strategic Forces, North, Sargodha and several other positions in the Pakistan Army.
General Irfan Malik made headlines when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) accused him of threatening to smash Maryam Nawaz.
Malik was overlooked for promotion to Lt. General this year but was given the charge of lucrative department of land and cantonment. His appointment was confirmed on November 14, 2023.
