General Munir visits Lahore

General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Lahore on September 29,2023 and participated in a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee alongside Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

During the Apex Committee meeting, COAS received a briefing on the overall security situation, encompassing Law Enforcement Actions against electricity and gas theft, hoarding, and foreign currency smuggling. The forum also discussed measures taken to protect minorities and the progress of operations in the Kacha area. Additionally, the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals was reviewed.

COAS emphasized the continuation of Law Enforcement Actions against a range of illegal activities, emphasizing collaboration with law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and relevant government departments. The goal is to mitigate substantial economic losses incurred by Pakistan due to various pilferage methods.

The forum was updated on the progress of the SIFC and Green Punjab initiatives, with COAS highlighting the importance of synergy among relevant departments to ensure the success of these significant projects. Participants affirmed their commitment to the progress and prosperity of the province, emphasizing unity among state institutions, government departments, and the public.

Upon his arrival, COAS was welcomed by Commander Lahore Corps.
