Iran targets Pakistan hideouts of Jaish-e-Adil with drones and missiles

Iranian missiles and drones struck targets in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, reportedly aimed at “militant bases,” sparking strong condemnation from Islamabad. Iranian media and affiliated sources declared the targeted bases destroyed, while Pakistan vehemently contested both the claim and the attack itself, deeming it a breach of sovereignty with potentially “serious consequences.” The attack took place in the border town of Panjgur in Balochistan.

Pakistan has reacted strongly to airstrikes conducted by Iranian forces in its southwestern Balochistan province. Condemning the attack as a violation of its airspace, the country recalled its ambassador from Iran and warned of consequences. Pakistan said the unprovoked attacked killed two children and injured at least three others. Pakistan has expelled the Iranian Ambassador and recalled its Ambassador from Iran.

The targeted group, Jaish-al-Adl, operates from both sides of the border, though its attacks primarily target Iranian forces. This surprise escalation raises concerns despite existing communication channels and recent diplomatic engagements between the two nations.

China expressed deep concern over the recent incident between Pakistan and Iran, urging both nations to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy in resolving the situation. Spokesperson Mao Ning called for restraint and de-escalation, emphasizing the importance of preserving peace and stability in the region.
