ISI officials threaten Bajaur election officials

In a brazen incident, four ISI officials reportedly attacked election officials in Bajaur, threatening the senior officials to change the polling officials for the April 21 byelections. Bajaur is one of the 21 National Assembly constituencies scheduled to go for polls on April 21.

The ISI has been accused by several political leaders of interfering in the election process in February this year.

Six high court judges of Islamabad High Court have complained of intimidation and interference by the ISI in judicial affairs.

The Returning Officer, NA08 Bajaur, has written a letter to the District Election Commissioner, Bajaur.

He said the ISI officials came to the office during the Friday prayers and assaulted the DEO, pointed guns at him before escaping.

The district administration staff has gone on protest against the ISI assault.
