The Counter-Terrorism Department (Peshawar) has claimed that the
militant group ISIS is behind the recent targeted attacks against religious
scholars and members of minority groups in the provincial capital
Peshawar. Additional Inspector General Shaukat Abbas while talking to
journalists in Peshawar said that after the encounter with the Special
Patrol Squad Ababil Force in the provincial capital, the Counter-Terrorism
Department arrested the terrorist Amin Ullah associated with ISIS, and
another terrorist Zafar was killed. AIG Shaukat Abbas said targeted
attacks against religious scholars and members of religious minorities
began in March. He said that 9 people have been targeted since March,
Sikh, Christian, and Muslim scholars are among the targeted people.
