The two-week long Pak-Turkey joint military exercise “ATATURK-XII 2023” concluded on February 09,2023. The ISPR said the joint exercise was designed to foster mutual experience-sharing in the field of counterterrorism as well as practice and implement best practices.

The exercise included Special Service Group members from Pakistan and Turkish Special Forces.The exercise aimed to improve cooperation between the two forces by fostering knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practises in the field of counterterrorism.

According to an ISPR press release, “compound and cave clearance, sniper training, managing improvised explosive devices, and combat medic training were key focus areas of the combined exercise.” This 12-year-old joint exercise, which is a part of the friendly nations’ bilateral military cooperation, is the 12th in the Ataturk series. Major General Asad Nawaz Khan, director general of military training, attended the award ceremony as the chief guest.

Colonel Mustafa Kahraman, who also attended the closing ceremony, was in charge of the Turkish military delegation and the Center Commander for Counter-Terrorism Training and Exercise.
