LeT leader shot dead in Bajaur

A religious scholar, Qari Ismail, son of Sailan from Laghrai, Mamond area of Bajaur, was martyred in a targeted attack by unidentified miscreants in Tarkho Serai Bazar, Bajaur. He was reportedly a member of Lashkar-e-Tayyeba, the militant wing of Jamaat-ud Dawa (JuD). The LeT is a designated global terrorist group.

The ISKP group has claimed responsibility for the killing of Qari Ismail. The ISKP statement mentioned, “Caliphate soldiers targeted a Taliban member in the Mamond area in Bajaur with pistol shots, resulting in his death.”

This marked the third incident of targeted killings of Ahl-e Hadith scholars in Pakistan in the last two weeks, although the perpetrators of the two previous killings remain unidentified.
