Pakistani and US infantry forces have commenced a two-week joint anti-terror exercise in north-western Pakistan, as announced by the Pakistan Army in Islamabad on July 4.
The exercise began last Saturday at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre in Pabbi, located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops from both Pakistani and US infantry regiments are participating.
The primary objective of the exercise is to exchange counter-terrorism experiences and refine essential drill procedures for anti-terror operations.
The exercise aims to enhance marksmanship skills during urban warfare by understanding best practices at the sub-unit level, ISPR stated.
Earlier this year, US troops participated in a multinational military patrol drill involving 20 countries, also held at the same centre in Pabbi.
