Pakistan to receive 2nd batch of 56 SH-15 Self-Propelled Howitzers from China

The second batch of SH-15 Self-Propelled Howitzers will be delivered to the Pakistani Army. A ceremony celebrating the creation of 56 SH-15 for the Pakistani Army also took place in China. A Chinese company called NORINCO conceived and built the SH-15, which is the export version of the PCL-181 howitzer. On March 15, 2022, the Pakistan Army commissioned the first batch of SH-15 guns. This gun also appeared in the Pakistan Day parade that year.

The truck-mounted, 155mm self-propelled howitzer PCL-181 has an export version called the SH-15. A Shaanxi 66 truck chassis with an armoured cabin serves as the foundation for the SH-15. The 155mm 52-caliber howitzer on the SH-15 Howitzer may fire a variety of projectiles. Additionally, this howitzer has a top-of-the-line automated AFCS) fire control system. The combat weight of the SH-15 PC is 25 tonnes. Any medium-weight transport aircraft can carry cargo that weighs this much. As a result, the PAF’s Il-78 strategic air lifters can immediately airlift these howitzers.

It is compatible with all standard 155 mm NATO ammunition, as well as indigenous ammunition developed by NORINCO. So this howitzer can use a wide variety of different ammunition. This artillery system is capable of direct and indirect firing. The maximum range of fire could be up to 53 km with a rocket-assisted V-LAP projectile.
