Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT visited Salalah Port of Oman as part of the Regional Maritime Security Patrol. The ship also conducted Passage Exercises with Royal Navy of Oman Vessel SADH and Royal Navy Ship HMS LANCASTER besides participating in Surge Operation SCARLET TRIDENT with Royal Navy Ship.
Upon arrival at Salalah port, the Pakistan Navy ship was warmly welcomed by
Officers of the Royal Navy of Oman and Defence Attaché of Pakistan. The Commanding Officer
of PNS ASLAT called on Senior Military Officials of the Royal Oman Armed Forces to
discuss bilateral Naval collaboration and PN contributions towards regional peace and
maritime security. Furthermore; various bilateral activities and exchange visits were also
conducted to share professional knowledge. Upon completion of the port call, an exercise was
also conducted at Sea with RNOV SADH to improve interoperability and hone
operational skills.
Earlier, PNS ASLAT also conducted a Passage Exercise and Surge Operation
SCARLET TRIDENT with Royal Navy Ship HMS LANCASTER. The aim was to
enhance interoperability and strengthen bilateral relations between the two
navies. The Exercise included Maritime Interdiction Operations, Cross Deck Landings
and various other serials which will enhance the professional competence of men onboard
and enhance cooperation among ships deployed in the region. The Surge Ops
SCARLET TRIDENT focused on actions against illicit maritime activities including
narcotics, drugs and arms smuggling.
Pakistan Navy and Royal Navy share a history of operating together wherein PN-RN
Bilateral Exercise WHITE STAR is regularly being conducted. Earlier, PNS ASLAT also conducted a Passage Exercise and Surge Operation SCARLET TRIDENT with the Royal Navy Ship HMS LANCASTER.
