NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A terrorist attack on a Pakistani border post was foiled by the prompt retaliatory action of security forces.
The attack took place last night in the border area adjacent to North Waziristan, where terrorists from across the border attempted to breach the post.
According to details made available by unofficial sources, Jawans posted at the post responded quickly and effectively, taking countermeasures to stop the attack. In the exchange of fire that followed, one terrorist was killed and two were injured. The remaining terrorists fled back to Afghanistan, leaving the body of their dead comrade at the border.
Sources said security forces remained on high alert and ready to protect Pakistan’s borders. The failed attack is another blow to elements who have already faced defeat on all fronts.
