Two soldiers, two terrorists killed in Waziristan IBOs

At least two terrorists were killed and as many soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom in two separate gun battles in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South and North Waziristan districts on Monday, the military said.

“On 16 October 2023, two fierce encounters took place between own troops and the terrorists in North and South Waziristan districts,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.The first engagement occurred in the general area Asman Munza, South Waziristan district, where own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which one terrorist was sent to hell, while another terrorist got injured,” it said.

However, during intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Sajid Azam, a 31-year-old resident of Kotli, Azad Kashmir, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat (martyrdom), the military’s media wing added.

In another intense fire exchange between own troops and terrorists in general area of Miran Shah, North Waziristan district, “one terrorist was sent to hell, whereas a brave son of soil, Sepoy Waris Khan, a 27-year-old resident of District Karak, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat”.

Sanitisation is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, the ISPR said.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement further said.
